Beanstalk is a live, interactive, online show that inspires curiosity, creative confidence, and kindness in kids ages 3-6. You can think of it as an interactive Sesame Street that’s leveraging new technology to interact with children in unique ways.

As Chief Product Officer, I had the honor of defining the company’s overall “why” and to create a product roadmap that is redefining what children’s content can look like. Beanstalk delivers a meaningful solution for parents and their children; real human interaction with our cast and socialization with other children.

Beanstalk is a Techstars company. Since it’s a small startup, I operated on a lot of different levels including product vision, identifying and implementing new technologies, user research, wireframes, design, and coding. I’ve even made appearances on the show itself, teaching kids to draw cartoons and voicing animated characters that interact live with the kids.

Each week is a different theme and we’ve taken kids to all kinds of interesting places. My favorite was when we interacted live with kids during takeoff, flight, and landing of a small propeller plane, fielding questions from the kids the whole time. We’ve introduced kids to all kinds of subject matter experts from NASA scientists to doctors to firefighters. Most importantly, we create a safe space for kids to share their feelings and have meaningful interactions with real people.
